Privacy Policy (Event Registration)
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and share your personal data when you register for, attend, or interact with our online events and related communications.
Who we are
Controller (UK GDPR):
Nagadevan Durai (also referred to as “we”, “us”, “our”)
Website: nagadevandurai.com
Email: [your email address]
Location: United Kingdom
If you are in India, we act as a “Data Fiduciary” under India’s digital personal data law.
Why we use your data
We use your personal data to:
● Register you for the event
● Send essential emails (confirmation, joining instructions, reminders)
● Deliver the session and manage Q&A
● Send post-event resources (recording, PDF, feedback form) if stated
● Improve future sessions using aggregated feedback and insights
● Track performance of the landing page and sign-ups (for example, what brought people
from Instagram)
We do not sell your data.
Legal basis for processing (UK GDPR)
We process your data under one or more of these lawful bases:
● Contract / steps to enter a contract: to register you and provide the event and
essential communications
● Consent: for optional WhatsApp reminders and any marketing emails where you opt in
● Legitimate interests: to understand website performance and improve our events (for
example, basic analytics), as long as your rights are not overridden
You can withdraw consent at any time where consent is the basis.
India compliance (DPDP)
If you are in India, we generally rely on your consent to collect and use your personal data for event registration and communications. You can withdraw consent by contacting us using the
details in Section 13.
Recording and content use
Some sessions may be recorded.
● We will display a notice on the registration page and/or at the start of the session if
recording is enabled.
● If you do not want to appear, you can keep your camera off and avoid speaking.
● If we plan to use short clips for content, we will do so in a respectful way. If you message
us with a concern, we will review it.
Who we share your data with
We share personal data only with trusted service providers needed to run the event and
website, such as:
● GoHighLevel (CRM, email automation)
● Zoom (live session hosting)
● WordPress plugins such as Eventin (if used for event management)
● Google Analytics (GA4) (website analytics)
● Meta Pixel (ad and conversion measurement, if enabled)
● YouTube (to embed an unlisted video on the landing page)
These providers act as processors or independent controllers depending on the tool and
context.
International transfers
Some tools we use may process data outside the UK/EEA/India (for example, in the United States). Where required, we use appropriate safeguards (such as contractual protections) to
protect your information.
How long we keep your data
We keep data only as long as needed for the purposes above:
● Event registration data: up to 12 months after the event (to manage replays,
resources, feedback, and follow-up)
● Event recording: typically up to 90 days after the event (unless we need it longer for
operational reasons)
● Marketing list (if you opt in): until you unsubscribe, or we remove inactive contacts
periodically
● Analytics data: according to our analytics settings and retention configuration
You can request deletion sooner, subject to legal and operational limits.
Marketing and WhatsApp
● We will only send WhatsApp reminders if you voluntarily provide your number and
opt in.
● Essential event emails (confirmation, Zoom link, reminders) are not marketing. They are
part of registering for the event.
● If we send marketing emails (for example, about future sessions), you will have an
unsubscribe option.
Cookies and tracking
We use cookies and similar technologies to:
● Understand how people use the site (GA4)
● Measure sign-ups and ad performance (Meta Pixel, if enabled)
You can manage cookies in your browser settings. Where required, we use a cookie banner so
you can accept or reject non-essential cookies.
How we keep your data safe
We use reasonable security measures such as access controls and reputable platforms. No website can guarantee perfect security, but we limit access to personal data and use trusted
tools to reduce risk.
