The Fellow Traveler

Not the Guru

I'm not here to teach you. I'm here to learn with you.

"உணர்தல் மற்றும் உணர்த்தப்படுதல்
Learning and Teaching Together"

The Opening

I never planned to be doing this.

If you’d told me six years ago that I’d be creating content about emotional intelligence and life
systems for thousands of people, I would have laughed.

And yet, here we are.

The Background

I grew up with the standard Tamil script.

Study hard. Get a degree. Get another degree. Find stable work. Don’t take risks. Don’t talk
about feelings. Don’t question the system.

I followed most of it. Engineering. Then a Master’s in Structural Engineering. Then years of
building businesses – some that worked, some that taught expensive lessons.

Somewhere along the way, I realized the script wasn’t working.

I was achieving things. But I wasn’t happy. I was busy. But I wasn’t clear. I had relationships. But
they felt harder than they should.

Something had to change.

The Search

Instead of just coping, I went looking for answers.

Books became my obsession – psychology, behavioural science, neuroscience, philosophy. I
wanted to understand why people (including me) do the things we do.

Podcasts during every commute. Long conversations with anyone who’d been through hard
things and come out wiser.

Then I did something that changed my perspective completely.

I moved to the UK for my MBA.

Suddenly, I was learning alongside people from 20+ countries. Germans. Mexicans. Nigerians.
Chinese. Indians from backgrounds completely different from mine.

I watched how culture shapes thinking. How the same problem gets solved differently
depending on where you grew up.

How some beliefs I’d carried my whole life were just… Tamil
beliefs, not universal truths.

I even went to Mexico on an exchange program – to understand how business works on a
completely different continent. Watching how Mexico supports the American economy while
building its own identity was eye-opening.

I came back with a new lens.

The Realisation

Here’s what I finally understood:

Most of our struggles share the same root.

We don’t understand why we do what we do.

We react instead of respond. We repeat patterns we swore we’d break. We make the same
mistakes in different relationships. We know what we should do but can’t seem to do it.

Psychology explains this. Neuroscience explains this. Behavioural economics explains this.

Once I started understanding the machinery behind my own patterns, everything shifted.

I stopped fighting symptoms. I started fixing roots.

The Transformation

Let me be honest about where I was.

I lived without systems. No planning. No structure. Just reacting to whatever came at me. Some
of my businesses succeeded despite this. Some failed because of it.

I was talented but chaotic. Ambitious but scattered.

Learning to build systems – for my time, my decisions, my emotions, my relationships –
changed everything.

Not overnight. Not perfectly. But steadily.

The clarity I have now didn’t come from some guru or magic moment. It came from years of
reading, failing, observing, and slowly putting frameworks in place.

Now I actually understand what I’m doing and why.

Why I Share

நம்ம culture-ல, we don’t talk about this stuff.

Mental health? “Just be strong.”

Emotional intelligence? “Why so sensitive?”

Self-awareness? “Stop overthinking.”

The frameworks that saved me – no one in my family ever discussed them. No one in my friend
circle brought them up. I had to go looking.

That’s not okay.

So I started creating content. Not as an expert with all the answers. As someone a few steps
ahead on the same path, sharing notes from the journey.

My goal is simple: move people from problem-unaware to problem-aware.

Most people don’t even know why they’re stuck. They just feel stuck. If I can help someone
name their problem, they’re already halfway to solving it.

What I'm Building

Right now, I’m turning everything I’ve learned into something more structured.

The Instagram reels and posts are just the beginning.
I’m building:

→ A newsletter where I share one useful framework each week – tested in my own life before I
share it with you
→ Short courses that go deeper than a 60-second video ever could
→ Webinars where we explore ideas together in real-time
→ Group accountability sessions for people serious about change
→ Eventually, a book that brings it all together

This isn’t about selling you something. Not yet, anyway.

Right now, I’m just sharing. Building in public. Letting you see the process.

When the courses launch, you won’t be surprised. You’ll have been part of the journey.

What I Actually Do

If you’re wondering what I “do” – here’s the honest picture:

I run businesses. Two education institutes that I co-founded over a decade ago, still operating, still growing. That’s the foundation.

I consult. Startups and small business owners come to me when they’re stuck – stuck in chaos, stuck in growth plateaus, stuck doing everything themselves. I help them build systems so their business doesn’t fall apart when they take a week off.

I create content. The Instagram reels, the posts, this website – it’s all part of sharing what I’ve learned with people who need it.

And I’m building something new.

The frameworks I’ve tested across my own businesses and with clients – I’m turning them into structured learning. Short courses. Webinars. Group sessions. A newsletter that goes deeper than any reel can.

So what do I actually do?

I help people understand themselves and their businesses better.

The format keeps evolving. The mission stays the same.

The Philosophy

உணர்தலும் உணர்த்தப்படுதலும் தான் வாழ்க்கை.

This phrase means more than “learning and teaching together.”

It means: First, I must realise. Then, I help others realise.
Realise what?

Their patterns. Their potential. Their blind spots. The gap between
who they are and who they’re meant to become.

But here’s the thing – I can only take you as far as I’ve gone myself.
That’s why I keep learning. Keep reading. Keep observing. Keep failing
and figuring out why. Every insight I gain becomes something I can share.

I’m not standing at a destination, waving you over. I’m walking the path,
a few steps ahead, leaving notes for whoever’s behind me.

உணர்தல் – I realise.

உணர்த்தப்படுதல் – I help you realise.

That’s the cycle. That’s the work. That’s the life.

Let’s walk together.
